What are the salient features of your school? |
The South Indian School is centrally situated in the heart of Shahganj in a lush green and tranquil environment. We have an excellent infrastructure like big, airy, well ventilated and decorated classrooms, a playground with swings and slides, an assembly hall with a stage for children to show their talent, an Activity Room with all the latest educational teaching aids with audio visual facilities and computers, RO drinking water with attached water cooler. The ambience provided at school attracts the little ones and the excellent staff in our school welcomes them with open hearts and tender guidance. Do you provide mid-day meal at your school? |
We do not provide any mid-day meal, however, we take care in providing neat and hygienic behavior while eating meals. Healthy eating habits are encouraged amongst children to improve their table manners. Washing hands before and after meals, spreading of a napkin, using of spoon and fork and independent eating habits are inculcated for a healthy routine. |
What is the student – teacher ratio? |
We understand the need of maintaining this ratio that is why most of our classes maintain the ratio of 35:1 i.e., 1 teacher for every 35 student or less. With this kind of ratio, our teachers ensure that no child is left out and they are able to give equal attention to all students present in the class. Thereby, The South Indian School ensures equal learning for all. |
What are the school timings? |
A child has to spend minimum 5 hours in school. There is a facility for early going for new admissions (Nursery to L.K.G.) for few days only till the child has adjusted to the school atmosphere. The school expects all the children to be punctual and regular to school. Summer Timing: 7:30 am - 1:00pm* Winter Timing: 8:30am* - 2:00pm *Timings are subject to change according to the intensity of heat /cold wave prevailing in the city. |
What is the teaching method used? |
Primarily we have a Play way Method (Nursery–UKG) of teaching. However to name a few we use international methodologies which includes kindergarten method, learning while playing and modern concepts. To mention a few activities that help our students learn the most are Literary Activities, Scientific Activities, Artistic and Sports Activities etc for enhancing learning and creativity amongst the children. A lot of emphasis is given to learning and writing skills keeping in mind the primary education. |
How do you prepare the child for future school? |
For Nursery: Providing the base of life at The South Indian School, we prepare each child for their later life by introducing academics to them. It includes everything, which a child requires to know before he/she joins any formal school like color concepts, phonetics, alphabet, numbers, vocabulary, etc. From Class LKG to VIII: Assessment is based on the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation system as per CBSE pattern. Along with these we also focus on building their social skills by giving them the overall development. We boost their confidence, emotional security; develop their personality etc. that they will need the most in their later life after schooling. |
Is there any transport facility of your school? |
The school provides transport facility to most parts of the city with the required safety & security measures. |
What are the safety and security norms of your school? |
The school takes utmost care in providing safety and security to your children during school hours. Parents/guardians have to leave their ward/s near school gate and at home time have to collect their children from their itself. The passages and main entrance of the school are regularly monitored on CCTV installed in the school premises. |

EXTRA – CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES Besides developing academic skills, the school lays a lot of emphasis on physical development of the body as well. For this it is compulsory for every child to join activities conducted in school. |
